Job Description
Job Summary: We are a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) company that specializes in the transformation of data in the US healthcare industry through cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions. We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager/Engineering Lead with proven growth journey from a developer to a lead role in fast-paced IT product companies. The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in Java, Python, Spring Boot, ETL Pipelines, and Airflow, with experience in message queues like AWS SQS, RabbitMQ, or similar. A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), DevOps automation, and microservices architecture is crucial. The role will involve managing technical debt, cost optimizations, cross-functional collaboration, and establishing reusable platforms and tools for the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Work with business teams to provide end to end solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
- Understand project requirements, coordinate with resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, code review processes, and architectural guidelines to ensure maintainability and scalability.
- Proactively identify technical and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle.
- Implement scalable processes for onboarding, performance evaluations, and tech documentation to support a growing team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and product teams to define the long-term technical vision, roadmap, and platform evolution.
- Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution
- Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end
- Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration
- Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation
- Identify resource requirements, efficient capacity planning
- Effectively lead teams and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence
- Encourage team interaction, boost employee motivation and appreciate team contribution
- Boost operational efficiency and development productivity of the team
- Manage and grow individual team members, attract and recruit new talent responsible for ever-growing technical challenges
Desired Profile:
- Engineering degree in computer science or related field from a renowned and accredited engineering college or university
- Minimum 8 yrs + years proven growth journey from a developer to a lead role in fast-paced IT product companies is a must
- Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
- Experience with OOP & Language such as Java or Python or both
- Experience with frameworks such as Springboot/Django or equivalent.
- Experience or exposure to CI/CD pipelines
- Experience or Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud or both
- Proven Experience or Exposure with Microservice Architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum practices with a proven ability to run sprints and iterative delivery.
- Proven ability to handle interpersonal conflicts, mediate discussions, and coach individuals for performance improvement.
- Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts
- Be a Subject Matter Expert in one or more product domains
- Should have demonstrated ability to recruit and manage technical teams, including performance management
- Should have managed a team of 10+ members and willingness to handle larger teams
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Nice to have experience into Healthcare/ Insurance domain but not a must to have
