Job Description
- Proven experience with hands-on administration of the Qualys Cloud Platform.
- In-depth knowledge of Qualys VMDR and Patch Management modules.
- Utilize the Qualys platform to manage remediation beyond simple patches, including the deployment of custom scripts, registry key modifications, and updates to file and folder security permissions to address identified vulnerabilities and misconfigurations
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management principles, including the full vulnerability lifecycle (discover, assess, prioritize, remediate, verify).
- Experience with a variety of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and their patching methodologies.
- Strong understanding of server hardening principles, including knowledge of Windows and Linux operating system configurations, registry settings, and file system security permissions.
- Experience with firmware upgrades and working with security administration of network devices.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as Qualys Certified Professional (QCP) in VMDR or Patch Management are highly desirable.
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or a related field, with a focus on vulnerability and patch management.
