Job Description

    As a Management Trainee and Assistant Manager in US Sales and Use Tax compliance at Genpact, you will lead the Accounting and Financial reporting team, ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all deliverables. Your role will involve providing guidance to the team for correct accounting treatment and acting as an escalation point when necessary. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing and coordinating day-to-day accounting and month-end close journals - Reviewing and validating inputs for journal processing - Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and clearing open items - Identifying process improvements and standardizing procedures - Preparing and reviewing month-end financial reports - Investigating and researching open items, as well as following up and escalating with different teams for resolution - Adhering to internal/external US GAAP/SOX audits Qualifications we seek in you: Minimum qualifications: - Accounting graduates with relevant experience, CA/CMA preferred - Working experience with ERPs, specifically SAP, would be preferred - Experience in reconciliations tools such as Blackline would be an added advantage - Prior experience with Retail Clients of the same size would be preferred - Good interpersonal skills, ability to manage complex tasks, and effective communication - Leadership behaviors: Drive Innovation, Act Like an Owner, Inspire Others - Effective leadership and team management abilities Preferred qualifications: - Strong Accounting and Analytical skills - Good understanding of accounting GAAP principles, with a preference for US GAAP - Ability to prioritize work, multitask, and drive tasks to closure - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications - Collaboration with Systems, Customers, and Key Stakeholders - Prior experience working remotely in a US time zone would be a plus - Attention to Detail: Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, showing concern for all aspects of the job, and accurately checking processes and tasks - Determining Financial Impact: Understanding the financial consequences of decisions - Valid US Visa Join us at Genpact and be part of a global professional services and solutions firm that is dedicated to creating lasting value for clients by serving and transforming leading enterprises with expertise in data, technology, and AI.,
