Vacancy: HSE Manager Greenfield Gold Mine Project
Job location : Tanzania . Remote Site ( 30 kms from nearest city)
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team for a prestigious Greenfield Gold Mine Construction Project. The role will focus on overseeing heavy
civil works involving reinforced concrete, field erection of large steel vertical tanks, and structural steel erection.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies, systems, and procedures aligned with stringent international standards.
Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, client requirements, and company policies on health, safety, and environment.
Provide hands-on leadership at site level, actively engaging with supervisors, contractors, and workers.
Train, mentor, and build the capacity of local safety officers and workforce who may have limited prior exposure to such
large-scale industrial construction projects.
Conduct regular HSE audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.
Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns to foster a safety-first culture across the site.
Manage incident reporting, investigation, and close-out processes in line with international best practices.
Liaise with client HSE representatives and regulatory authorities to maintain transparent communication and ensure project-wide alignment.
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
Recognized HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) essential.
Minimum 10 years experience in HSE management on large-scale mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects, with strong exposure
to reinforced concrete and steel erection works.
Demonstrated ability to implement HSE standards in challenging greenfield environments within developing regions.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Hands-on, proactive approach with proven ability to train and mentor local safety staff.
