Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our mutual fund research function. This role will be responsible for delivering actionable insights and recommendations to empower our distributors, clients, and internal teams. The position involves in-depth fund analysis, performance evaluation, market monitoring, and active contribution to product evaluation and distributor education.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and due diligence on mutual funds across categories (equity, debt, hybrid, etc.).
- Evaluate fund performance, risk metrics, investment strategy, Total Expense Ratio (TER), and fund manager track records.
- Design and maintain model portfolios tailored to diverse risk profiles and investment objectives.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory updates (SEBI, AMFI), and mutual fund industry developments.
- Support empanelment of new AMCs and products on the company's platform.
- Prepare and maintain high-quality research reports, fact sheets, presentations, and periodic fund review notes (monthly/quarterly).
- Benchmark and compare funds against indices and peers to identify relative strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide insights, training, and communication strategies to support sales and distribution teams.
- Review and track the performance of recommended funds, suggesting changes when necessary.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- MBA (Finance) required; CFA (completed or in progress) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in mutual fund research, investment analysis, or portfolio advisory.
- Strong knowledge of the Indian mutual fund ecosystem and applicable regulatory frameworks (SEBI, AMFI).
- Proficiency in analytical tools and databases (Excel, Value Research, Morningstar India, Bloomberg).
