Instead is a tax platform designed to help taxpayers and tax professionals collaborate to save money on taxes. As the first company in decades to receive IRS approvals to E-file 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 we're re-inventing a complex category. Founded in 2023, Instead combines LLMs with tax law to make tax management a continuous, proactive process rather than a dreaded annual deadline.

About the role
We're seeking an experienced Marketing UX/UI Designer to create, develop, and maintain compelling user-centered digital content across multiple channels, including: websites, marketing email, social media, events, and paid advertising. You'll be responsible for transforming complex tax concepts and content into engaging visual narratives, optimizing brand consistency across all touchpoints, and ensuring cohesive design systems that drive user engagement. This creative role requires strong digital design expertise and brand skills, while collaborating across our marketing, product and sales teams to deliver comprehensive visual solutions that support our growing fintech and tax technology business.
What you'll do
- Work closely with the marketing department to translate campaign objectives into highimpact creative.
- Create clear, innovative designs & animations for website pages, emails, social media graphics, event collateral, paid ads, blog visuals, motion graphics, and more.
- Use datadriven decisionmaking to generate ideas that lift engagement and conversions.
- Bring new brand-building ideas to the table and run with themfrom concept through polished assets.
- Deliver productionready assets against tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ensure visual consistency & qualityshare WIP, give/receive critique, follow process.
- Stay on top of trends & tech (new design techniques, channels, tooling) and suggest ways to adopt them.
What you'll need
- 4-5+ years of UX/UI design experience in a highgrowth online or SaaS environment.
- Polished portfolio showing B2B/B2C work for SaaS, fintech, or comparable industries.
- Expertlevel Adobe CCPhotoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
- Mid-level Figma skills
- Bonus skills in WordPress, ClickFunnels, Webflow or Pardot templating/design.
- Fluency with MacOS, GoogleWorkspace, Slack, Zoom and modern marketing stacks.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and lastminute requests with a positive attitude.
- Eagleeye for detail (misaligned pixels bother you).
Nice to have
- Motion graphics and video editing experience
- After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or other motion tools are a plus.
- Email HTML + styling
