Job Overview

We're seeking a UI/UX Designer who will be responsible for the visual design and user experience of bowens.com.au. The ideal candidate will combine data-driven insights with creative design skills to enhance our eCommerce platform's performance and user satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business requirements into intuitive user interfaces and experiences
  • Analyse user behavior using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.) to identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain and evolve the design system and style guide for bowens.com.au
  • Create detailed wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new features and enhancements
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Conduct user testing and iterate designs based on feedback
  • Stay current with UX/UI best practices and eCommerce design trends

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in UI/UX design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating information architecture, visual design, and interaction design skills
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and creating design systems
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
  • Knowledge of web design standards, accessibility guidelines, and responsive design
  • Ability to analyse user data and translate insights into design improvements
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS (to effectively collaborate with developers)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization
  • Experience with user research methodologies

Deliverables Expected

  • Wireframes and prototypes that meet industry standards
  • Design assets ready for developer handoff
  • Regular reports on user behavior analysis and recommendations
  • Updates to design system and style guide
  • Documentation of design decisions and rationale

Tools & Technologies

  • Design software: Sketch, Figma, or similar industry-standard tools
  • Prototyping tools: InVision, Principle, or equivalent
  • Analytics platforms: Google Analytics, Hotjar, or similar
  • Collaboration tools: Slack, Jira, etc.
