Job Description - Video Editor
Summary Description
The purpose of this role is to edit age appropriate, educationally relevant video content, which
engages, broadens knowledge, and entertains students.
Essential Job Functions
- Edit short videos to a high creative and technical standard to reflect the quality, accuracy
and engagement aims of Imagine Learning and build our reputation as providers of
excellence
- Ensure videos are clear and understandable for students, and free from distraction
- Review videos against guidelines to ensure consistency
- When required digest and act on film feedback from Producers and senior stakeholders
- Engage with established workflows and take responsibility for your individual projects
- Multi-task and meet the needs of any new projects which arise
- Raise any risks to quality or schedule
- Understand and adhere to technical and best-practice requirements whilst editing and
delivering videos
- Track film progress, using systems and technology as required to ensure schedules run as
planned
- Source and select footage as required
- Where necessary liaise with archive and rights teams, and diligently adhere to clearance
paperwork and processes to ensure videos are clearable
Qualifications
- Approximately 2 years professional experience editing childrens, factual, and or/online
content and a demonstrable understanding of storytelling through video
Technical Skills
- Excellent Adobe Premiere skills and working knowledge of After Effects is essential
- Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience is desirable

- Storytelling experience and an understanding of how to use pictures and voice over in
educational films
- An understanding of pacing and how to effectively use music in videos
