Job Description
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the administration / configuration of Atlassian Suites of Applications Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Linux
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) for automation
- The foremost requirement of this role is to provide application support and incident resolution in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Performance tuning of slow running processes will also be required.
- A deep and demonstrated understanding of Security principles is required to manage changes in line with security recommendations.
- Monitors system performance and makes recommendations for modifications, research problems, identifies root cause and proposes sustainable solutions.
- Experience working with global teams.
Desirable:
- Experience in managing application upgrades and managing configurational changes.
- Serves as application support for any other version control application.
- Experience supporting SaaS and on-premises applications.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic, Grafana, PRTG).
- Experience with Fisheye / Crucible, Bamboo is a plus
- Maintains non-technical system documentation, such as process flow charts, design documents, business communications records.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential as you will be required to conduct meetings with end users to obtain requirements and generate functional specification documents.
- In conjunction with the Business Analysts, you will work with users to gather requirements for projects and enhancements to the production system.
- The successful candidate will be proficient in being able to functionally analyze a requirement for a change request and present an estimate for consideration.
- Working closely with the SMEs and current team, the role will also be required to:
- Follow Change Control procedures as well as performing environment refreshes and maintenance of the different environments on a regular basis.
- Troubleshoot and fix application environment issues.
- The ability to install, configure, upgrade and optimize performance of an application environment.
- In depth understanding of the environment and the business systems requirements of it.
- Able to re-build the platform if required.
- Understands the business impact of an IT systems failure.
- Ability to create technical recovery and continuity plans.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the administration, configuration and support of Atlassian applications, GitHub, Linux and DevOps tools.
- Solid experience with application support to end customers and liaisoning with stakeholders to provide quick support.
- Solid experience with automation to reduce toil (manual repetitive work).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with business and functional resources to develop sustainable business solutions.
- Ability to document technical specifications.
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to knowledge transfer skills to other team members.
