Job Description
As the Sr. Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the vision for enabling solutions on United AI Studio (enterprise ML platform). As a senior engineer, you will ensure technical tasks and properly detailed, designed and executed by existing standards. You will also need to work with other engineering teams and leaders - solving their use cases, discussing issues and resolving them. The engineering work is primarily done using cloud-based services like Azure, AWS, and GCP, and it is therefore essential that for our engineers to be successful, they should have experience working on cloud-based services.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with the United AI Studio engineering teams to help solve business problem
- Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security
- Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the teams deliverables
- Write high quality distributed system software
- Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
- Perform code review and mentor junior engineers
- Be flexible, adapting to meet the needs of the team, project, or product
- Solicit differing views and are willing to change your mind as you learn more
- Mentor junior engineers
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Qualifications - External
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field
- 8+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer
- Experience working in a complex, service-oriented service development
- Experience in working with engineering leaders
- Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build process, testing, and operations
- Good knowledge of technology stack like Java (Spring Boot), REST APIs, Python
- Good understanding of the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
- Solid computer science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
- Proficiency in cloud platforms and services (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using terraform or other CI/CD IaC
- Any knowledge or working experience on AI/ML projects
