Job Description
- As a Senior Analyst, Accounting Projects at Elastic, your role will involve supporting high-impact initiatives that enable the global accounting and financial reporting organization to scale efficiently and operate with excellence. You will work on cross-functional projects involving process design, systems implementation, data analysis, and stakeholder alignment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Support the design and execution of strategic projects across global accounting and financial reporting functions - Partner with stakeholders to capture requirements, assess dependencies, and document processes - Conduct process mapping, gap analysis, and root cause investigations within core accounting cycles - Assist in monthly accounting close activities - Drive operational readiness for projects through user acceptance testing, training, and change management - Perform data analysis and validation across financial systems and large datasets - Maintain traceability across business requirements, process design documentation, and test plans - Identify risks or blockers early in the project lifecycle and propose solutions - Recommend and implement improvements to standardize and streamline accounting operations globally **Qualifications Required:** - 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting, accounting systems, or accounting-focused project management roles - Hands-on experience with a major ERP system, NetSuite experience preferred - Solid understanding of US GAAP, general accounting, record-to-report processes, and financial data reconciliation - Proficiency in process documentation, business/data analysis, and a systems-thinking approach - Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, working with large datasets, macros, and VBA - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills - Ability to operate independently, self-prioritize, and drive progress without constant oversight - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems - Experience with tools like SQL, Tableau, Lucidchart, Sigma, and DBT is a plus - Resourceful, action-oriented approach and curiosity for problem-solving **Additional Information:** Elastic is committed to diversity and inclusivity, providing benefits such as health coverage, flexible work locations and schedules, generous vacation days, financial donation matching, volunteer project hours, and 16 weeks of parental leave.
