Job Description
Position: Production Engineer
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Head
Job Purpose:
To plan, supervise, and optimize production processes ensuring timely delivery, quality output, and efficient use of resources in line with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- CNC punching and programmer
- Under AUTO CAD and knowledge about it.
- Plan and implement daily/weekly production schedules while allocating manpower, machines, and materials effectively.
- Set up, program, and operate Prima / Amada turret punching machines, ensuring accurate fabrication as per drawings.
- Optimize punching layouts to minimize scrap, perform tool changes, and handle machine troubleshooting.
- Monitor production line performance, reduce downtime, and drive process improvements to enhance productivity.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices such as 5S and Kaizen to improve efficiency and workplace organization.
- Ensure output meets quality standards, coordinating with QA/QC for defect analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with ISO/industry quality norms.
- Maintain compliance with ISO and industry quality norms while keeping detailed production records and reports.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for quick resolution of breakdowns.
- Guide, train, and support operators, technicians, and line supervisors.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, assembly, PU foaming, CNC, etc. as per industry)
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, TPM, and quality systems
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Leadership and team management ability
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, or production software
- Good communication and coordination skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
- 25 years of experience in manufacturing/production
- Experience in refrigeration / sheet metal / assembly industry preferred (if applicable)
