Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled VB.NET Application Support Analyst to provide functional and technical support for our legacy and current business applications built using VB.NET. The ideal candidate will manage issue resolution, application monitoring, and user support while ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for VB.NET-based applications.
- Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and integration errors.
- Work closely with development teams to analyze code and deliver quick resolutions.
- Monitor application logs, database queries, and performance metrics.
- Handle incident, problem, and change management tickets using tools like Jira, ServiceNow, etc.
- Collaborate with business users to understand and replicate issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
- Deploy patches and updates in test and production environments.
- Maintain support documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Coordinate with external vendors or 3rd-party support if required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience supporting applications developed in VB.NET.
- Solid understanding of .NET Framework, Visual Studio, and Windows Forms or Web Forms.
- Experience with SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, views, triggers).
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with ability to read and understand VB.NET code.
- Familiarity with source control tools (e.g., Git, TFS).
- Good understanding of SDLC and ITIL-based support processes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with end users.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with migrating VB.NET applications to modern platforms (e.g., C#, .NET Core).
- Knowledge of web services (SOAP/REST).
- Exposure to Windows Server, IIS, or basic networking.
- Familiarity with job schedulers (e.g., Windows Task Scheduler, Control-M)
