Data Analyst - Reporting & Insights (SQL + Automation Expert) @ Rentomojo

We re looking for a sharp, analytical, and business-savvy Data Analyst who is a power user of SQL across platforms like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS Athena. In this role, you won t just write high-performance queries you ll also automate reporting flows, build scalable pipelines, and ensure real-time visibility into business metrics across teams.

  Build, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries on Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB and Athena to generate actionable reports and dashboards.

  Automate query execution and reporting via Google Sheets, using AWS Lambda or equivalent serverless solutions.

  Set up and manage scheduled jobs, alerts, and workflows using AWS Data Pipeline, Step Functions, or similar orchestration tools.

  Partner with business stakeholders (Ops, Marketing, Finance, Product) to understand reporting needs and deliver high-impact solutions.

  
  


• 
  

  Own day-to-day reporting requirements automated and ad-hoc including operational metrics, cohort analyses, funnel reports, and performance dashboards.

  Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and propose scalable solutions for reporting infrastructure.

  Translate business problems into analytical tasks and convert data into insights that drive decision-making.

  Collaborate with Data Engineering/Platform teams to ensure data integrity and pipeline reliability.

  
  

• 
  

  Advanced SQL proficiency across PostgreSQL, MySQL, and AWS Athena.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong experience in automating data workflows, especially pushing query outputs to Google Sheets using AWS Lambda or similar tools.

  Knowledge of AWS Data Pipeline, Glue jobs, and scheduling/event-driven processing.

  Experience with data modeling and structuring datasets for analytics.

  
  


• 
  

  Comfortable navigating large and messy datasets to answer open-ended business questions.

  Proficient in Excel and/or BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Power BI, Tableau, Looker).

  Good understanding of business KPIs and ability to derive insights from raw data.

  Experience with Python or Node.js for Lambda scripting and automation.

  Familiarity with DBT or modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Fivetran).

  Exposure to product or supply chain analytics in a fast-paced environment.
