Team Lead Vulnerability Management
Summary:
The Team Lead for Vulnerability Management is responsible for leading a team that identifies, evaluates, prioritizes, and remediates security vulnerabilities across an organization's infrastructure, applications, and systems. This role serves as a liaison between security operations, IT, and business units, ensuring timely mitigation of risks and compliance with industry standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the vulnerability management team.
- Oversee vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation processes.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure timely patching and fixes.
- Monitor threat intelligence feeds to correlate known vulnerabilities with potential exploits.
- Prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, impact, and exploitability.
- Create and deliver regular reports on vulnerability metrics to stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Lead vulnerability management meetings and remediation planning sessions.
- Continuously improve VM lifecycle and integrate with threat and risk management programs.
Key Skills & Tools:
- Vulnerability Scanners (e.g., Tenable Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7 InsightVM)
- Risk assessment frameworks (e.g., CVSS, NIST)
- Strong understanding of networks, operating systems, and web applications
- SIEM and SOAR integration
- Patch management workflows
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
