Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Sunroof System Design Engineer with proven experience in the design and development of sunroof systems for passenger vehicles. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of sunroof mechanisms, homologation standards, and manufacturing processes, and be capable of driving engineering activities from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of sunroof systems including mechanical, sealing, and actuation components.
- Ensure compliance with global homologation and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with styling, body engineering, and manufacturing teams for system integration.
- Create and validate CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
- Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and support prototype development and testing.
- Work with suppliers to ensure tooling feasibility and production readiness.
- Address design changes and improvements based on validation and feedback.
Core Knowledge Required:
- Manual and motorized actuation systems
- Guide rails, drive cables, and motor integration
- Glass panel design and sealing systems
- Drainage and water management systems
- Anti-pinch and safety features
- Familiarity with NVH, thermal, and durability aspects of sunroof systems
- Experience in homologation and regulatory compliance for sunroof systems
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, and assembly
Required Skills & Experience:
- 612 years of experience in automotive sunroof system design.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
- Strong understanding of vehicle integration and packaging constraints.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Early joiners preferred.
- Experience with global OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Exposure to passenger vehicle programs and platform integration.
