Job Description
- As a highly skilled and motivated SQL Developer, your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable database solutions, integrating them with Java and/or Python applications, and optimizing database performance to ensure data integrity. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver high-quality software. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and implementing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers for PostgreSQL or Oracle databases. - Optimizing database performance through indexing, query tuning, and schema improvements. - Working closely with application developers to integrate database solutions with Java and/or Python applications. - Developing and maintaining ETL processes for data migration and integration. - Collaborating with business analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. - Performing database performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning. - Participating in database design reviews and providing recommendations for best practices. - Developing and maintaining documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures. - Supporting existing database systems and applications, including on-call rotation as needed. - Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in PostgreSQL, Oracle, Java, and Python. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience as an SQL Developer. - Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL or Oracle databases. - Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. - Experience with database design, normalization, and optimization. - Proficiency in Java or Python. - Experience with version control systems like Git. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills (Bonus Points): - Experience with both PostgreSQL and Oracle databases. - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools. - Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI. - Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra.
