Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced ORVM (Outside Rear View Mirror) Design Engineer with a strong background in automotive mirror systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in design, development, and validation of ORVM/IRVM components for passenger vehicles, with a solid understanding of homologation, manufacturing processes, and design requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of ORVM systems from concept to production.
- Ensure compliance with global homologation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including styling, packaging, and manufacturing.
- Prepare and review 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
- Conduct design reviews and DFMEA for mirror systems.
- Interface with suppliers for tooling feasibility and manufacturing readiness.
- Support prototype development and testing activities.
- Address design changes and improvements based on feedback and validation results.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6 to 12 years of experience in automotive ORVM design.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mirror system components, materials, and mechanisms.
- Familiarity with vehicle integration, ergonomics, and styling constraints.
- Experience in homologation and regulatory compliance for mirror systems.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes like injection molding, painting, and assembly.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Early joiners preferred.
- Experience with global OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Exposure to passenger vehicle programs.
