Cloud Infra Engineer @ Teamware Solutions

The Team IT Cloud Foundation is part of PI Germany, IT Production Application Services. The team is mainly responsible for the run and maintenance of a container platform, VMware platform as well as build tools like GitLab or Nexus. All of those applications are provided as a service to the customers. We see tribes or other teams in this case as our costumer. Along with the run and maintenance of those applications, the team is in charge of the whole automation ecosystem. Since end of 2023, we are also working with the internal cloud service dMZR. We are a dual-located team, distributed between Nuremberg and Munich.

The Cloud-subteam is responsible for the automated provisioning of cloud resources like databases, loadbalancer, OpenShift namespaces or virtual machines. In addition, the team is highly involved in the planning of applications which should be migrated to the dMZR.

For now, the automation is based on GitLab CI. Furthermore, there are a lot of different automations around the infrastructure provisioning. There are a lot of interfaces to our automation system, which has to be handled.

The goal is to implement a central orchestrator platform, which consolidates all automation processes. For that, we need someone to handle the implementation. In addition, the interface with the architects has to be optimized.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

- Define, optimize and automate the interface between the architects and our automation ecosystem

- Plan and implement the central orchestrator based on the requirements of the team

- Document the interfaces and implementation of the central orchestrator

- Know-how transfer for central orchestrator

- Assist team in provision infrastructure for the project based on Terraform

- Contribute to the internal cloud automation process with Terraform, GitLab CI and/or Hashicorp Vault

- Providing support for the corresponding teams, which work with the automation processes like IT Operation

- Working close together with the BNP group to get information about the internal cloud solution

- Basic Linux-knowledge

- Very good knowledge in development with Python

- Very good knowledge in working with APIs

- Good knowledge in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform

- Good knowledge in automation via GitLab CI

- Good troubleshooting skills and logical way of thinking

- First experience with Hashicorp Vault

- Experience in managing code with Git (SCM)

- Basic knowledge in cloud architecture

- Experience with application Apache Airflow would be good

- English fluent in spoken and written
