- Role Overview: As the Vice President of Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing financial accounting, financial reporting, and operating activities. This includes tasks such as settlement accounting, accounts receivable, fixed assets at junior levels, and preparing budgets, financial reports, conducting financial analyses, and making recommendations to senior management at senior levels. It is crucial to have oversight and controls in place around accounting and business processes to assure the accuracy and timely completion of all accounting transactions. You will lead a diverse, multi-geography, or multi-functional accounting and/or finance group/business unit. Additionally, you will oversee compliance activities such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Operational Risk Management (ORM) and communicate potential exposures to leadership. Your role will involve directing efforts to strengthen existing controls, optimizing business processes, and establishing collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives. You may also represent the company at external key events, contribute to expert panels, and evaluate financial performance against budget and projections for external reporting and stakeholder communications. Furthermore, you will manage one or more teams, conduct goal setting and performance appraisal processes, and coach and develop employees as an organizational resource. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee financial accounting, financial reporting, and operating activities - Provide guidance and leadership in preparing budgets, financial reports, and conducting financial analyses - Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all accounting transactions by having oversight and controls in place - Lead a diverse accounting and finance group/business unit - Direct compliance activities such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Operational Risk Management (ORM) - Strengthen controls, optimize business processes, and establish collaborative partnerships with stakeholders - Represent the company at external events, contribute to expert panels, and evaluate financial performance for reporting - Manage teams, conduct goal setting and performance appraisal processes, and coach and develop employees Qualifications Required: - Established as a trusted advisor to business partners with experience in consulting on complex technical accounting issues - Managed a diverse, multi-functional accounting and finance organization - Experience in assessing the effectiveness and oversight of accounting control implementation and ensuring compliance - Ability to set strategy for process improvement initiatives and develop procedures for implementation - Demonstrated successful oversight of high-risk issue management and resolution - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (Note: The additional details about the company's corporate security responsibility have been omitted from the final JD as per the instructions),
