About the Role
Were looking for an experienced and dynamic QA Lead to take full ownership of quality assurance activities and lead our QA team to deliver high-quality software across web, mobile, and client-server platforms. Youll define testing strategies, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Product, Development, and Operations teams to ensure smooth, efficient delivery in an Agile/DevOps environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end quality assurance lifecycle across multiple client projects, ensuring all deliverables meet agreed quality standards and timelines
- Develop and implement effective QA strategies, test plans, and test cases based on client requirements and industry best practices
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of QA engineers, fostering continuous learning and promoting best testing practices and methodologies
- Collaborate closely with clients, project managers, business analysts, and development teams to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Drive performance testing initiatives (preferred skill) using tools like JMeter, analyzing results and providing recommendations for improvements
- Oversee automation testing efforts, coordinating with automation engineers to enhance test coverage (preferred skill)
- Ensure strong database testing coverage by writing and executing complex SQL queries for backend validation, data integrity, and business logic verification
- Monitor defect lifecycle management, prioritize issues based on severity and business impact, and ensure timely communication and resolution
- Coordinate regression testing and continuous integration activities to support Agile and DevOps workflows
- Identify risks and issues in testing phases and proactively propose mitigation plans
- Establish and maintain QA metrics, dashboards, and reports for project status and quality health to share with clients and stakeholders
- Drive process improvements in QA practices, tools, and frameworks to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Facilitate smooth communication and collaboration between onsite and offshore teams, ensuring alignment on testing goals and progress
- Participate in client meetings and calls to provide QA updates, discuss challenges, and align expectations
- Stay updated with emerging QA trends, tools, and technologies to continuously enhance the teams capabilities and client deliverables
- Support post-release validation and assist in root cause analysis for critical production issues when required
Qualifications and Skills
- 812 years of hands-on experience in manual testing with leadership responsibilities in a service-based IT environment
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, Agile, and DevOps practices
- Proficient in SQL for database testing
- Familiarity with defect management tools such as Jira and Mantis
- Hands-on experience with API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with global, cross-functional teams
- JMeter and Automation Testing experience is nice to have, but not mandatory
Preferred Skills
- Experience integrating QA processes into CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver)
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter
- Ability to contribute to or manage automation and performance testing initiatives when required
