Position Summary

The PBL Coordinator/Specialist is responsible for leading the schools Project-Based Learning (PBL) initiatives. This role involves training, mentoring, and supporting teachers to effectively implement PBL strategies in the classroom. The coordinator ensures that teaching practices align with the schools vision of experiential learning and acts as the primary face of PBL for internal stakeholders, students, and parents.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Training & Capacity Building
  • Design and deliver professional development sessions for teachers on PBL pedagogy, curriculum integration, and classroom practices.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to teachers for effective implementation of PBL.
  • Organize workshops and model lessons to build teacher confidence in PBL methodologies.
  1. Implementation & Monitoring
  • Oversee the integration of PBL across grade levels and subjects.
  • Observe classrooms to ensure PBL methods are being applied consistently.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to teachers for continuous improvement.
  • Track student engagement and learning outcomes through PBL projects.
  1. Curriculum & Resource Development
  • Collaborate with academic heads and subject teachers to design project frameworks aligned with curriculum goals.
  • Curate and share PBL resources, tools, and best practices with the teaching team.
  • Innovate and recommend strategies for cross-disciplinary projects.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the point of contact for PBL-related queries from teachers, students, and parents.
  • Showcase student projects through exhibitions, presentations, and events.
  • Communicate the value and impact of PBL to the wider school community.
  1. Innovation & Quality Assurance
  • Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of PBL implementation.
  • Research global best practices in PBL and introduce innovative teaching approaches.
  • Recommend policy/process improvements to strengthen PBL culture in the school.

  • Strong knowledge of Project-Based Learning pedagogy and experiential learning practices.
  • Excellent training, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Classroom observation and teacher performance feedback expertise.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to engage teachers and parents.
  • Ability to design innovative learning experiences.
  • Organizational and coordination skills for managing PBL events and reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Education or related field.
  • Prior teaching experience with PBL implementation (mandatory).
  • Experience in teacher training or academic coordination is preferred.
  • Familiarity with international curricula (IB, Cambridge, etc.) is an added advantage.
