- As a Ruby on Rails Engineer at Commutatus, you will collaborate with ambitious entrepreneurs, startups, and corporates to conceptualize, design, and build digital products. Your role will involve working in a squad of 6-8 individuals, including designers, front-end engineers, back-end engineers, and a project manager. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects such as conducting research and feasibility checks to contribute to feature ideation, assisting in planning and estimating features for timely rollouts, developing frameworks that power our platform, and implementing solutions that directly impact clients across industries. We value practical skills over formal qualifications, emphasizing traits such as open-mindedness to remote work, exceptional communication abilities, resourcefulness, problem-solving skills, organization, and a strong grasp of Ruby on Rails, APIs, and database design. Ideal candidates will have experience in building scalable digital platforms, working with GraphQL and REST APIs, database design and optimization, understanding backend system components, contributing to open source projects, and deploying applications using automated tools like Github Actions.
