Job Description
- Import Operations
- Verify shipping documents (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Airway Bill) to ensure alignment with purchase order terms.
- Prepare and process documentation for the import and customs clearance of shipments.
- Collaborate with the EXIM department to review and validate supplier documents.
- Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and ensure timely data updates in internal systems.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders (FF), customs house agents (CHA), and insurance surveyors for seamless customs clearance.
- Manage inland and international transport arrangements.
- Review and process payments for CHA, FF, and transporter bills, ensuring timely disbursement.
- Evaluate Shipment Request Forms (SRF), packing lists, and required documents such as licenses and order copies.
- File necessary export documentation with Customs Authorized Officers within the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), including invoice, packing list, and GR Form.
- Coordinate collection of Bills of Lading and Airway Bills from carriers.
- Obtain Certificates of Origin (COO) from relevant chambers of commerce.
- Prepare and dispatch post-shipment documentation and ensure timely closure of licenses with regulatory bodies.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for availing benefits under government schemes like EPCG, DEEC, etc.
- Generate and manage regular MIS reports to track and analyze import/export performance.
- Proven experience in handling import and export documentation and compliance, preferably in engineering or construction industries.
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, SEZ operations, and international shipping protocols.
- Familiarity with government incentive schemes for exporters and importers.
- Strong coordination skills with internal stakeholders and external agencies like CHAs and freight forwarders.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
