Job Description
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Modeller to join our data engineering and analytics team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of conceptual, logical, and physical data models across multiple domains. Your expertise will help shape our data architecture and enable high-quality data solutions that power business intelligence, analytics, and operational systems.
You will play a crucial part in shaping our enterprise data architecture using modern platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and enabling data-driven decision-making through scalable data solutions. A strong understanding of AI/ML data requirements, combined with experience handling pricing and financial data, will be highly valuable in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of data modelling from requirement analysis to physical implementation across enterprise and domain-specific data assets, especially in pricing and financial analytics.
- Design and maintain high-performance conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both transactional systems and analytical platforms (e.g., data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, pricing analysts, and data engineers to translate domain requirements into structured data solutions.
- Build and document domain-driven models that support AI/ML training datasets, predictive pricing models, and real-time analytics.
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, Power BI, Synapse) for unified data architecture, semantic modeling, and governed self-service analytics.
- Perform data profiling, data quality analysis, and validation of source data, particularly pricing data, customer segmentation, and product-level financial attributes.
- Support data product teams with the design of reusable and trusted data assets, conforming to Data Mesh or Data-as-a-Product principles.
- Define and implement data modeling best practices, naming conventions, version control, and metadata standards across cloud platforms.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, especially around sensitive pricing, PII, and financial information.
- Partner with AI/ML teams to design optimized structures for feature stores, training data pipelines, and model interpretability.
- Mentor junior data professionals and foster data modeling maturity within the organization.
Technical Skills:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise data modeling, including relational, dimensional, NoSQL, and cloud-native models.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric components: OneLake, Synapse Data Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, and Power BI semantic models.
- Proven experience working with pricing data, financial modeling, product catalogues, revenue structures, and cost analysis domains.
- Deep understanding of data warehouse methodologies (Kimball/Inmon), data lakehouse architectures, and star/snowflake schema design.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-related data concepts such as feature engineering, model input/output pipelines, training datasets, and model explainability.
- Experience with cloud data platforms: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting for data transformation, profiling, and validation.
- Strong skills in data modeling tools like Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or Microsoft s native modeling tools within Power BI or Fabric.
- Knowledge of data governance, data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), and metadata management tools (e.g., Purview, Alation, Collibra).
