Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and project budgets during the planning and design stages.
- Evaluate tender documents, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and pricing for construction projects.
- Assist in contract administration, including reviewing terms, preparing documentation, and managing variations.
- Track project costs, monitor budgets, and generate cost control reports.
- Conduct site measurements and valuations to ensure accurate billing and payments.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to maintain financial control.
- Analyze and negotiate subcontractor quotations and manage subcontractor payments.
- Identify and assess risks related to cost overruns and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support claims preparation and resolution, including EOT (Extension of Time) and VO (Variation Orders).
- Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements related to contracts and construction finances.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software such as CostX, Candy, or Primavera.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, methods, and materials.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of local construction laws, codes, and procurement procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both pre- and post-contract quantity surveying.
