Job Description
- As a Senior Automotive Electrical Product Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and development of electrical and power electronic components for automotive applications. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the architecture, design, and development of converters, inverters, power electronics, and HVAC/transport refrigeration systems. You will be driving innovation, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and focusing on launching new products with robust performance and reliability. One of your key responsibilities will be conducting risk analysis through DFMEA to identify reliability risks and develop mitigation strategies. You will also be involved in creating and executing test plans, ranging from functional testing to environmental and regulatory evaluations. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating detailed documentation, including specification drawings and Application Specification Documents, to support design clarity and manufacturing handoff. In this role, you will coordinate and manage testing activities at external agencies for regulatory requirements such as HALT and EMC to ensure compliance with safety standards. Your involvement in the New Product Development process will be critical, as you will be responsible for structured progression through milestones from concept to product launch. To excel in this position, you should have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical product design, preferably in the automotive sector. You should demonstrate expertise in DFMEA, test planning/execution, regulatory testing (HALT, EMC), and documentation. Proficiency in tools like MATLAB and Dymola for modeling and simulation tasks is essential. A solid understanding of applicable electrical safety regulations and protocols for automotive mobile systems is required. Your success in this role will be enhanced by your familiarity with the New Product Development lifecycle, including milestone-driven deliverables. Strong communication, coordination, and project-management abilities are key soft skills that will enable you to work effectively with external testing agencies and internal cross-functional teams.,
