Job Description Civil Engineer (Building Maintenance)
Location: Hosur, Tamil Nadu
Experience Required: 7 10 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Civil Engineering
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in building maintenance and facilities management to join Tata Electronics at Hosur. The ideal candidate will oversee civil maintenance activities for industrial and office buildings, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, and provide cost-effective solutions for repairs and preventive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day civil maintenance operations of industrial buildings, offices, and utilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, structures, roads, drainage, water supply, and sewage systems.
- Plan, execute, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Handle civil renovation, retrofitting, and expansion works with minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants for civil repair and maintenance projects.
- Prepare maintenance budgets, cost estimates, BOQ, and project schedules.
- Review and approve work permits, drawings, and contractor bills.
- Implement best practices in energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable building practices.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (Production, EHS, Projects, Admin, etc.) for smooth facility functioning.
- Lead and guide a small team of supervisors and technicians.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of civil works, structural maintenance, finishing, and waterproofing.
- Experience in managing large-scale manufacturing or corporate building maintenance.
- Familiarity with statutory requirements (labour, safety, environmental laws).
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
Preferred Background:
- 710 years of relevant experience in building/facility maintenance in large-scale industries, IT parks, or manufacturing setups.
- Exposure to green building maintenance and sustainability practices will be an advantage.
- Candidate should be from Diploma / BE Civil background.
