About this opportunityWe are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in Mobile Financial Services (MFS) to design and implement scalable, secure, and innovative digital financial solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in digital payments, mobile wallets, APIs, and fintech ecosystems, along with the ability to align technology solutions with business goals.What you will do
Lead the end-to-end solution design for Mobile Financial Services including mobile wallets, digital payments, money transfers, merchant payments, airtime top-ups, and bill payments.
Collaborate with business, product, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical architectures.
Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems integrating core banking, payment gateways, and third-party fintech solutions.
Ensure solutions meet regulatory compliance (PCI-DSS, GDPR, local financial regulations).
Work closely with development teams, DevOps, and infrastructure to ensure seamless implementation.
Provide technical leadership in API design, microservices, cloud-native deployment, and integration architecture.
Conduct solution reviews, risk assessments, and performance optimization for deployed systems.
Stay updated with emerging fintech trends (AI in payments, blockchain, Open Banking, UPI, CBDCs) and advise leadership on technology roadmaps.
Support partner onboarding and integrations with telcos, banks, and fintech providers.
Document architectural blueprints, design patterns, and standards for reusability across projects.
You will bring
10+ years of IT/technology experience with at least 5+ years as Solution Architect in Fintech/MFS/Banking.
Strong understanding of digital payment systems, mobile money platforms, USSD, SMS, and mobile app ecosystems.
Expertise in API design & management (REST, OpenAPI, SOAP), microservices, integration platforms, ESB.
Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and DevOps practices.
Solid grasp of security standards PKI, encryption, authentication (OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect), PCI-DSS compliance.
Experience with core banking integration, payment gateways, and real-time transaction systems.
Strong stakeholder management and ability to present solutions to business and technical audiences.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
