Overview of Job As the Auto-CAD Design Team Lead, you will oversee and guide a team of skilled designers and engineers in the creation of detailed 3D models, assemblies, and mechanical designs. You will be responsible for managing design projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality output that meets industry standards and client expectations. Your deep expertise in mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.), coupled with your leadership skills, will be crucial to driving innovation and maintaining the teams performance. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers in creating complex mechanical and architectural drawings, as well as 3D models.
  • Drive the development and implementation of design strategies to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Oversee the design process, ensuring that all deliverables adhere to technical specifications and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage the conceptualization, planning, and execution of new product designs, ensuring alignment with client and business requirements.
  • Develop and enforce testing protocols, validating designs and ensuring product functionality and durability.
  • Review and approve technical drawings, plans, and specifications produced by the team, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Develop and manage 3D models using REVIT, including MEP models and Navisworks for clash detection.
  • Create 3D models from 2D drawings for Electrical and Mechanical systems, ensuring accurate linkage to reference Architectural models.
  • Design and coordinate Architectural elements, including building facades, floor plans, walls, doors, and windows according to standards.
  • Develop structural components such as beams, columns, slabs, and floors.
  • Model Mechanical systems including RCUs, AHUs, CSU, HVAC ducts, HVAC piping, evaporation and condensation systems, and associated equipment like compressors, chillers, hot water pipes, and chilled water pipes.
  • Create Electrical layouts for lighting, power distribution, cable trays, earthing, and lightning protection.
  • Design Instrumentation & Controls, including smoke detectors, speakers, cameras, and card access systems.
  • Develop Fire Protection systems including water sprinklers, fire hydrants, and fire extinguishers.
  • Model Plumbing systems, including pipes, bathroom fittings, drainage lines, and shafts, ensuring all components meet project specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, with a proven track record of leading design projects and teams.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, and other relevant design software.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering principles, with significant experience in designing mechanical systems and products.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team to achieve high performance.
  • Expertise in interpreting and producing detailed mechanical and architectural drawings.
  • Keen attention to detail, with strong visualization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
