 It Support Engineer

Job Description

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP.
  • Understanding of virtualization, storage, backup solutions.
  • Good grasp of network concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls).
  • Familiarity with endpoint management tools, SIEM, and monitoring solutions.

Ability to analyze logs and proactively identify issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advanced Technical Troubleshooting
    • Resolve escalated tickets from L1 support, including hardware, OS, and application issues.
    • Perform root cause analysis and document resolution steps.
    • Provide remote and onsite support for critical incidents

2.System Administration & Infrastructure Support

    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups in Active Directory.
    • Support Windows Server, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V/VMware), and storage systems.
    • Administer email platforms (Microsoft 365, Exchange) and collaboration tools.

3. Network & Security Support

    • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues, VPN configurations, and firewall access.
    • Monitor network devices, servers, and logs for performance and security alerts.

4. Knowledge Base & Process Improvement

    • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical guides.
    • Mentor and guide L1 engineers for faster ticket resolution.
    • Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and process automation initiatives.

5. Audit & Compliance Assistance

    • Prepare technical documentation, system diagrams, and configuration baselines.
    • Provide evidence and logs for internal and external IT audits.
    • Ensure systems adhere to organizational IT security and compliance policies.
