Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who is skilled in both coding and design, someone who can translate ideas into responsive, well-structured digital assets while also shaping them with a strong visual sense. This role is about more than just clean code or polished layoutsits about bringing both together to create experiences that are functional, visually engaging, and built to perform seamlessly across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and code responsive HTML email templates optimized for different devices and email clients.
- Build AMP for Email templates to enhance interactivity and engagement.
- Ensure cross-platform compatibility across major email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo, etc.).
- Optimize emails for speed, accessibility, and deliverability.
- Test and troubleshoot email code to fix rendering issues.
- Collaborate with the design team to translate UI/UX concepts into functional email templates.
- Maintain a library of reusable email components and templates.
- Implement personalization and dynamic content using ESP capabilities (e.g., Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, etc.).
- Stay updated with best practices in email development, coding standards, and evolving AMP capabilities.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and inline styling for emails.
- Strong understanding of AMP for Email coding and limitations.
- Hands-on experience with responsive email frameworks (e.g., MJML, Foundation for Emails, etc.).
- Familiarity with email testing platforms (Litmus, Email on Acid, etc.).
- Knowledge of email client quirks and rendering issues.
- Ability to optimize images and assets for faster loading in email.
- Understanding of email deliverability basics (alt text, preheader text, semantic coding, etc.).
- Knowledge of version control tools (Git) is a plus.
- Understanding of basic accessibility guidelines for email.
Preferred / Add-On Skills
- Experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma.
- Ability to create email-ready visuals, GIFs, and lightweight animations.
- Knowledge of JavaScript basics (for understanding AMP logic).
- Experience with CRM or ESP platforms (Salesforce, Mailchimp, SendGrid, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of analytics tagging for email performance tracking.
Experience & Qualifications
- 2 - 4 years of proven experience in coding responsive and AMP emails.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Design, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong portfolio showcasing past email coding work (responsive + AMP preferred).
Soft Skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of design precision.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving email standards.
