Job Description
- As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer at Birla Cellulosic, your primary responsibility is to plan and implement maintenance activities for all electrical equipment at WTP ETP to ensure 100% availability of spares, tools, and tackles. The Grasim pulp & fibre business, known for its "Birla Viscose" brand, has established a strong market presence and reputation in the textile industry over the past 50 years. The Birla Cellulosic plant, a Green Field Project of Grasim Industries Ltd., is a modern facility producing Viscose Staple Fibre with advanced manufacturing processes. Your role involves maintaining the trouble-free operation of electrical equipment through planned maintenance, which is essential for ensuring stable operating conditions and high product quality. The major challenges you will face include implementing best maintenance practices to prevent breakdowns, optimizing manpower productivity while handling corrosive chemicals, and meeting evolving quality standards in a globalized market. Key Result Areas: 1. Planned Maintenance: - Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize breakdowns and improve equipment uptime. - Maximize availability of electrical equipment by developing suitable maintenance schedules and monitoring compliance. 2. Project & Development Activities: - Support the implementation of new schemes within budget and timeframe by organizing resources effectively. - Analyze breakdowns, identify weak areas, and propose corrective actions to prevent future incidents. 3. Quality: - Execute electrical maintenance activities to ensure optimal production and delivery within cost and quality parameters. - Implement ABG Standards, update maintenance checklists, and prepare RCA to achieve zero breakdowns. 4. Safety: - Ensure compliance with safety norms and regulations for electrical equipment and personnel. - Monitor the performance of the electrical system, implement safety procedures, and develop a culture of behavioral safety. 5. Cost: - Achieve minimum maintenance costs, implement cost-saving initiatives, and review maintenance budgets periodically. - Plan procurement of spares to reduce inventory and prevent recurring breakdowns. 6. System Management: - Implement WCM concepts and other TPM/TQM initiatives, ensuring QMS/EMS compliance. - Prepare necessary documents to meet standard requirements and monitor their implementation. 7. People Development: - Identify training needs and recommend skill development programs to build a competitive workforce. - Motivate subordinates, conduct training sessions, and reward best practices to enhance team performance. 8. Environment: - Implement eco-friendly maintenance practices and waste disposal systems to comply with ISO 14001 standards. - Identify gaps in environmental standards compliance and ensure audit findings closure through awareness and action.
