Job Description
- As an Assistant Engineer at Birla Copper's copper smelting and refining complex in Dahej, Gujarat, you will be responsible for mechanical maintenance across operating and utilities departments. This role involves coordinating with multiple process plants utilizing diverse technologies and equipment, managing different shutdown specifications, and collaborating with service providers across geographies. Your responsibilities will include consolidating user requirements, planning maintenance schedules, shutdown CAPEX, and resource requirements with limited resources. Effective coordination with various sections of mechanical engineering services teams and the procurement department will be crucial for success. Key Challenges: - Keeping the operation plant in optimal condition during shifts - Conducting daily rounds and interacting with Operation, Electrical, and Automation teams - Ensuring a strong safety culture by promoting the use of PPEs and safe work processes to minimize incidents - Compliance with statutory, IMS, and HSE guidelines and addressing any variances Key Result Areas/Accountabilities: - Effective planning of maintenance tasks in shifts ensuring adherence to health, safety, and regulations - Overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations and identifying repair needs - Implementing proper cost control measures and taking timely actions - Developing self and the team by continuous learning, monitoring performance, and planning training and skill development - Ensuring a safe working environment, promoting best practices in safety and environmental management, and achieving ZERO accidents Qualifications required for this role include a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum experience level of 3-5 years. As an Assistant Engineer, you will report to the Assistant General Manager.,
