Job Description
- As a designer at Lennox, you will have the exciting opportunity to create pattern designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Your key responsibilities will revolve around designing Refrigeration and Air conditioning products with a focus on Cost, Manufacturability, Serviceability, Regulatory Compliance, CODE requirements, and safety. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Marketing, Sourcing, and Testing to smoothly transition products from design to manufacturing phase. Your role will involve participating in various activities like DFMEA, PPAPs, DFMA, RCFA, and conducting thorough reviews of 2D/3D designs to ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Leading design reviews and obtaining approvals from relevant cross-functional teams will be an integral part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing concept designs related to sheet metal and plastics using advanced design methodologies and techniques. Furthermore, you will engage in advanced detailing, redrawing, lettering, and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies, and engineering change orders. Your input in suggesting design modifications to enhance product quality and functionality will be highly valued. It will also be your duty to ensure that drawings incorporate all design features while maintaining the product style, exhibiting a high degree of flexibility and the ability to drive design activities with limited supervision. To excel in this role, you should possess a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in CAD software techniques and tools. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant field is required, and expertise in SolarEdge/Teamcenter software, sheet metal and tubing manufacturing, as well as experience in PLM (SAP, Teamcenter) will be advantageous. An added advantage would be knowledge in refrigeration.
