Job Description
- As a Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager at Cognizant, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for various IT sub-categories such as Hardware, Network, Data Center & Field Services. Your role will involve identifying cost reduction opportunities, conducting market analysis, negotiating with suppliers, and collaborating with Category Leads. Key responsibilities include managing key suppliers, running RF(x) processes, collaborating with internal teams for budget approvals, and ensuring compliance with purchasing practices. You will need considerable knowledge of IT industry-based category buying, contract management, and experience working with ERP suites such as Ariba. Your duties will include preparing bid specifications, issuing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, and driving the implementation of procurement policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for managing supplier relationships, executing RFx processes, and ensuring compliance with Global Procurement policy. To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of 8 to 9 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and vendor management within the IT Hardware Sourcing domain. Strong negotiation skills, analytical abilities, communication skills, and project management expertise are essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a large volume of business, possess techno-commercial acumen, demonstrate a willingness to learn and innovate, and work effectively in a team environment.
