Role Overview Description
We are looking for a skilled Shopify Developer (36 years experience) who can lead the development of high-performance ecommerce stores on the Shopify platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including design, performance marketing, and strategy to build bespoke, conversion-optimized, and responsive storefronts.
You should have deep expertise in Shopify's architecture, theming system, Liquid templating, and front-end technologies, with a strong understanding of ecommerce user journeys. Experience working with APIs, custom apps, and third-party integrations is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, customize, and maintain Shopify stores, themes, and apps in alignment with brand guidelines and growth goals.
- Collaborate with UI/UX and design teams to translate mockups and wireframes into responsive, user-friendly websites.
- Customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), with clean, scalable code.
- Develop and enhance features to optimize user experience and drive conversions across devices (mobile, tablet, desktop).
- Integrate Shopify with third-party tools and marketing platforms (analytics, CRM, payment gateways, ERP).
- Troubleshoot, debug, and test across browsers and devices to ensure performance and reliability.
- Work with Storefront API, AJAX API, and Metafields for advanced customizations and dynamic content.
- Maintain and improve site speed, usability, and SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including performance marketing and data teams to enable data-driven improvements.
What We're Looking For:
- 3 to 6 years of experience in Shopify development, including custom theme and app development.
- Strong command of Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and DOM manipulation.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify APIs (Storefront, Admin, AJAX), metafields, and Shopify CLI.
- Experience integrating and customizing third-party Shopify apps and external APIs.
- Ability to develop responsive layouts optimized for performance across all devices.
- Familiarity with Git version control and development tools such as Postman, Chrome DevTools, etc.
- Proficient in cross-browser debugging and performance tuning.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working with ecommerce-focused teams or agencies is a plus.
