Job Description
- You are ready to gain the skills and experience required to advance your career as a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms team. In this role, you will be part of an agile team that focuses on enhancing, designing, and delivering software components for the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As an emerging member of the software engineering team, you will execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product or application, all while developing the necessary skills to progress in your role. Your responsibilities will include executing standard software solutions, writing secure and high-quality code using programming languages, designing, developing, coding, and troubleshooting with consideration of technical implications, applying knowledge of tools in the Software Development Life Cycle, and contributing to decision-making through data analysis. Additionally, you will be expected to learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems, while fostering a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. To be successful in this role, you should have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with at least 2 years of applied experience, practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability, as well as expertise in modern programming languages and database querying languages. You must also demonstrate proficiency in coding, experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle, exposure to agile methodologies and cloud technologies, and knowledge of software applications within technical disciplines like cloud, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with modern front-end technologies and exposure to cloud technologies. Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow and Jira is also desirable.
