Work Hours: 4 PM to 1.30 AM IST

Reports To: Director

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of mobile event technology while building and leading a high-performing development team.


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead - Mobile Development to direct and manage our mobile development team of 5 developers. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management responsibilities, overseeing the development and maintenance of native iOS and Android applications that serve thousands of event attendees worldwide. The ideal candidate will lead by example, providing technical guidance while managing project timelines, client relationships, and team development. You'll be responsible for ensuring our mobile applications meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and user experience.


Key Responsibilities


Team Leadership & Management


Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5 mobile developers (iOS and Android specialists)

Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development planning

Foster a collaborative team environment and promote best practices across the mobile development lifecycle

Coordinate and direct software development processes within the mobile department and cross-functionally with web development and IT teams

  • Manage project assignments, timelines, and deliverables across multiple client applications

Provide technical guidance and architectural decisions for both iOS and Android native applications

Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices

  • Stay current with mobile development trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies

Make strategic technology decisions regarding frameworks, libraries, and development tools

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions for escalated problems


Client & Project Management


Engage directly with internal customer service teams, clients, and event managers to understand requirements and resolve mobile product issues

Lead client consultations on app design customization, branding requirements, and user experience preferences

Manage the full client app lifecycle from initial design concepts through store deployment and post-launch support

Coordinate custom app development timelines to accommodate App Store and Google Play Store review processes

Scope new mobile development projects and provide accurate time and resource estimates accounting for client specific customizations

Coordinate with product management to prioritize features and enhancements across multiple client applications

Develop rollout plans for new software releases and updates, managing multiple client deployment schedules simultaneously

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and client-specific implementation notes

Development & Deployment


Oversee integrations and deployments to both App Store and Google Play Store

Manage both companys developer accounts and client-owned Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts

  • Navigate complex deployment scenarios including fully client-branded apps published under client accounts

Work with Apple and Google on behalf of clients to resolve account and deployment issues

Plan and manage submission timelines to account for app store review cycles and client launch requirements

Ensure proper implementation of CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane and Jenkins across multiple app variants

  • Direct maintenance of existing applications and handle critical issues as they arise

Oversee development and deployment of specialized Android applications for various hardware devices, including Lead Retrieval systems, Express Check-in kiosks, and ePosters displays


Cross-Platform Coordination


Collaborate with server-side development teams working with ColdFusion APIs, AWS, and MongoDB

Ensure seamless integration between mobile applications and backend services

Coordinate with Firebase implementations for push notifications and analytics

Oversee local data storage implementations using SQLite


Required Qualifications


Technical Expertise


5+ years of native mobile development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role

Expert-level proficiency in Swift for iOS development

  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development

Deep understanding of MVVM architecture for both platforms

Experience with Xcode, Android Studio, and respective development toolchains

Proficiency with CocoaPods, Gradle, and package management

Strong knowledge of Firebase integration and SQLite database management

  • Experience with Fastlane and Jenkins/GitHub for CI/CD deployment

Familiarity with AWS/Azure services, MongoDB Atlas, SQL Server, and ColdFusion APIs


Leadership & Communication


Proven track record of leading and mentoring development teams

Strong project management skills with experience using tools like Asana or Confluence

Excellent communication skills for client-facing interactions and design consultation

Experience managing App Store and Google Play Store deployment processes across multiple client accounts

Ability to balance technical debt with feature development priorities across multiple client applications

Strong time management skills to coordinate multiple client timelines and app store review cycles

Experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients Industry Knowledge

Understanding of event technology, conference management, or similar industries preferred

Experience with applications serving large user bases and complex event workflows

Knowledge of accessibility standards and mobile app best practices

Experience with Android applications deployed across diverse hardware platforms and form factors

  • Familiarity with onsite event technologies such as lead retrieval systems, registration kiosks, or digital signage solutions

Preferred Qualifications


Experience with SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose for modern UI development

Familiarity with Combine and Coroutines for reactive programming

Knowledge of VisionKit, CameraX, and QR code scanning implementations

Experience with event management or attendee engagement applications

Background in API integration and RESTful service consumption

Understanding of mobile app analytics and performance monitoring

Experience with white-label or multi-tenant application architectures

Knowledge of app store optimization (ASO) and submission best practices

Familiarity with client branding and custom UI/UX implementation processes
