Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Analyst -QA Support to act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the QA/testing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of business processes, and a keen eye for quality assurance. You will be responsible for gathering and documenting requirements, supporting QA teams with test planning and execution, and ensuring business needs are met through effective system validation.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis (60%)
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and user stories.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for developers and QA teams.
- Assist in prioritizing requirements and creating user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to clarify scope and objectives.
- Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, providing support in Agile environments.
- Create process models, wireframes, and workflows as needed.
QA Support (40%)
- Collaborate with QA analysts to develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business requirements.
- Review test results and ensure that delivered functionality meets business expectations.
- Participate in functional, regression, and UAT testing efforts.
- Assist in defect triage, tracking, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Validate test data and support test environment setup when required.
- Act as a liaison during User Acceptance Testing between business and QA teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with exposure to Quality Assurance processes.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies (manual and/or automation) and SDLC/STLC.
- Experience writing business requirements, BRDs, FRDs, and test case documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, or similar.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- QA or BA certifications (e.g., CBAP, ISTQB).
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation.
- Experience with automation testing frameworks or tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of healthcare, finance, or [your industry] domain is an asset.
