Job Description
Job SummarySynechron is seeking an experienced Tableau Developer to design, develop, and optimize data visualization solutions that support strategic decision-making across our organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data into clear, insightful dashboards and reports, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role contributes directly to enhancing data-driven insights and operational efficiency.
Software Requirements- Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Tableau Desktop (latest version preferred) and Tableau Server/Online
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
- Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Familiarity with data preparation tools like Tableau Prep or similar solutions
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum) for project delivery
- Experience with Source Control tools such as Git (preferred)
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, QlikView)
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Design, develop, and maintain intuitive and interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into visual solutions
- Optimize data models and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security
- Conduct troubleshooting and performance tuning of dashboards and data sources
- Develop and document technical specifications, best practices, and processes for dashboard development
- Participate in project planning and provide ongoing support post-implementation
- Stay current with evolving Tableau features and data visualization trends, recommending integrations for continuous improvement
- Data Visualization & BI Tools:
- Essential: Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud
- Preferred: Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools
- Programming & Data Query Languages:
- Essential: SQL (performance tuning and data extraction)
- Preferred: Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R for advanced data manipulation
- Data Management & Databases:
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and tools
- Cloud Technologies:
- Understanding of data integration processes with cloud platforms (preferred)
- Frameworks, Libraries, & Development Tools:
- Familiarity with REST APIs for data integration (preferred)
- Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline workflows
- Development Methodologies:
- Agile/Scrum project frameworks for collaborative and iterative development
- Security Protocols:
- Awareness of data privacy and security standards relevant to BI platforms
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in data visualization, business intelligence, or related roles
- Proven experience in developing dashboards and reports using Tableau in a corporate environment
- Demonstrated ability to analyze business requirements and design effective data visualizations
- Experience working with data analysts, engineers, and other IT teams
- Industry experience in finance, retail, or technology sectors is preferred
- Meet daily with project teams to review priorities and progress
- Develop and refine dashboards based on user feedback and evolving requirements
- Extract, transform, and load data into Tableau from multiple sources
- Troubleshoot issues related to data accuracy, performance, and security
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure dashboards meet reporting needs and usability standards
- Document dashboards, data models, and best practices for ongoing maintenance and upgrades
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
- Relevant certifications in Tableau (e.g., Tableau Desktop Specialist, Certified Tableau Professional) preferred
- Commitment to professional growth through ongoing learning and industry certifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy and usability
- Excellent communication skills to articulate data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and new technologies
- Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Innovation mindset to explore new visualization techniques and data storytelling approaches.
