The Global Markets Technology (GMIT) team is a focussed and useroriented development team operating in Structured Rates area. Within that space, the Orochi is a GMIT owned Python job scheduler and execution framework used for storing, sharing, deploying and scheduling python code written outside IT. The candidate will work in a very collaborative team (3 in London, 1 in Mumbai) to deliver strategic change, enhancements, support and maintain this critical system. The team has stakeholders in Structures rates, Strats, Finance, Risk, Operations, Regulatory. The role will suit a candidate with solid interpersonal skills, excellent delivery focus, and a flair for building technically robust solutions. Key responsibilities will include:
Working with regional teams London, Mumbai using Python(Backend) and React(Frontend).
Working on modernisation programme to move development practices to use uptodate industry standards.
Working closely with users from Strats, Finance, Risk, Operations, Regulatory to implement practical solutions and contribute to both tactical and strategic programmes.
Working constructively in a team to deliver high quality solutions, and to encourage continuous improvement and collaboration.
Provide secondline support to the business for both system and business problems.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
Computer Science or related degree is preferred (B.E / B.Tech / MCA)
Experience: 6 to 9 years
Required: Strong Python, React
Desirable languages : RDBMS & SQL
Write unit test / pytest cases, deploy application on test environments and conduct regression testing
Contribute to system architecture and stability in terms of conceiving performance
Good understanding of Agile development methodology.
Good understanding of SDLC workflow. SDLC tools knowledge is plus
Strong problem solver and good project management skills to plan and deliver on requirements.
High level of attention to detail, a positive cando attitude and a strong focus on producing work of the highest standard are essential.
Excellent communication skills (candidate will be interacting with diverse functions and levels globally).
Experience with a SDLC stack using Git, Ansible, Kubernetes and Jenkins would be ideal.
Must be well versed in using modern development methodologies.
