Job Description
Role Description:
Principal, Pune is hiring a Mainframe Sr Infrastructure Engineer.
This engineer will be a part of the Platform support under Information Services (IS) and responsible for helping achieve the strategy around availability of our Mainframe environment through adoption of applicable modern philosophies and methodologies. Reporting relationship:
This role will report to PGS IS Delivery Manager Skills & Experience:
- Experience to configure & understand Devops tools CI/CD tools (XLR/Digital.ai, UCD, Jenkins, Github ) , awareness of environments, applications, server connections, property definitions, templates, etc.
- Strong hands-on experience of Groovy scripting from automation perspective.
- Exposure and/or experience with the mainframe (JCL, REXX, Batch Jobs, file systems, encoding etc.) along with experience with IDZ tools.
- Strong understanding of Dependency Based Builds (DBB), Jenkins/Jenkins server support.
- Exposure to introducing infrastructure for REST API, making Z apps and data key to your hybrid cloud strategy.
- Understanding of creating a "process/pipeline/job in a generic manner by using properties.
Good to have skills.
- Python scripting hands on experience
- Enable process of migrating and improving enterprises existing mainframe footprint in the areas of interface, code, cost, performance, and maintainability .
- Measure operational efficiency for agile deliveries - Innovate and Improve existing processes & DevOps culture
- Contribute in discussions, understand the high-level strategy and adopt new tools/technology/process es.
- Ability to research - dig in and troubleshoot issues across multiple tools
- Individual contributor, good team player and lead with minimal supervision, good analytical skills and research oriented.

Education:
- Graduate Bachelors degree (Engineering preferred)
