Senior Software Engineer - Mainframe Developer @ IT Services

Job Description

Key Skills: Mainframe, Mainframe Cobol VSAM JCL DB2, CICS

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Participate in Agile development processes and project management activities
• Utilize Advanced SQL and DB2 for database management and data analytics
• Provide support for CICS and other mainframe technologies as needed
• Engage in continuous learning and improvement of mainframe technologies

Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience in Mainframe application development and maintenance
• Good knowledge of COBOL, VSAM, JCL, and DB2 (nice-to-have)
• Experience working with CICS for online transaction processing (nice-to-have)
• Proficiency in Advanced SQL for database querying and optimization (nice-to-have)
• Exposure to Oracle databases and data analytics tools or processes (nice-to-have)
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in mainframe systems
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging and system optimization

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
