Automation Test Engineer @ Tekskills India

Position Description: Test Engineer with a passion for testing, is a self-starter and always thinks with the mind of the end customer. You will work as part of an agile team that delivers customer-facing solutions to our clients. The incumbent will work on a variety of different projects and provide a fresh perspective to both functional and regression testing. You will partner with both manual testers as well as application developers to help integrate the front to back processes and deliver on the API testing to ensure software meets high-quality standards by leveraging various testing techniques.

Job Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

• Automates testing of software to industry standards and creates and maintains appropriate test artifacts for the team (Test Plans, Sprint Plans, etc.)
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of existing and new features through both manual and automated testing and use of continuous integration techniques where practical
• Partners closely with team members to assist with and help drive test automation through all phases of testing (such as unit, system, integration, and regression)
• Partner closely with the Business Analysts to create acceptance criteria for the user stories and leverages the acceptance to create tests that can be automated.
• Produces test scripts, materials, and regression test packs to test new and amended software or services.
• Evaluates and plans for regression testing for new releases of 3rd party/cloud-based solutions and any Unum specific configurations or customization
• Analyzes and reports test activities and results using industry best practices that align with the companies reporting and metrics needs
• Develops test strategies, test plans, test cases, test coverage, and test execution reports to support the Quality Assurance effort in testing features that are part of the application and/or solution changes
• Creates and maintains traceability records, from test cases back to requirements.
• Communicates daily with the Scrum Master or Team Lead and the agile team on progress made and planned progress for the coming day; reports any impediments blocking progress
• Participates in sizing and estimation activities within the agile team

Skills Required:

• Practiced understanding of Agile development methodologies & understanding of DevOps Integration in a Scrum environment
• 3+ years of implementing Agile Testing Strategy for software design/development
• 3+ years of software automation experience in web/cloud services, applications, and platforms
• Experience developing and executing manual and automated test suites based on engineering and customer specifications
• Experience with application (UI/API/Unit) automation tools, BDD automation tools i.e. Cucumber, monitoring tools, performance testing tools, and automation technologies
• Experience with test automation frameworks
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal capabilities and is a strong team player; able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across the organization.
• The ability to write reusable, optimized, maintainable code that is well documented and follows industry-standard best practices
• Good problem solving skills
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment with geographically distributed team members
• Good communication and presentation skills: ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, across all stakeholder groups and with staff from junior to senior levels

Skills Desired:

• Test Certifications are preferred (ISTQB certifications, CSM, CSD, CSP)
• Professional experience using Core Java, JavaScript, Java REST APIs, Python, .Net, Angular
• Experience creating/consuming web services and data queries in SQL
• Jira Workflow automation
• Experience automating End User Technology support processes (i.e., Global Service Desk functions, Desktop Change Management, Desktop Software Distribution, etc.)
• Experience with Chatbot / Cognitive AI technologies
• Knowledge of Financial markets, Institutional Banking & Wealth Management business
