Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Strong work ethic and curiosity with a desire to improve yourself through your work
- Minimum of 10 years hands-on Azure cloud experience as a Developer, DevOps or Cloud
Architect
- Demonstratable understanding of Azure services, solutions and core concepts including
networking, compute, data and application services
- Awareness of DevOps tools and practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Azure
DevOps.
- Experience working with groups following Agile methodologies
- Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a broader project team
- First-rate communication skills and ability to apply these to rapid and creative problem solving in
an occasionally pressurized environment.
- Comfortable working remotely or presenting in person in meetings with senior stakeholders
Desirable:
- Degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Science, Computer Science etc.)
- Experience understanding and translating complex business processes involving stakeholder
groups and perspectives
- Experience of working in a financial services organisation, preferably with exposure to the
insurance industry/insurance broking. Where this directly relevant experience is not available, we
will be looking for an ability to rapidly become effective in a new, unfamiliar environment
The role offers hybrid working with travel to office expected on a regular, weekly, cadence for meeting and workshops.
Some occasional travel may be required.
Preferred candidate profile
10+ years in Azure
- Strong understanding of Networking, Compute, Data services, Application services
- IaC tools and practices. Tools like Azure DevOps, ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform
- CI/CD pipelines, supporting releases and deployments
- Agile
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently
- Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
- Azure Certified
