Job Description

Overview

The SAP BW / BW/4HANA Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data warehousing and business intelligence solutions using SAPs Business Warehouse platform. They play a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights for business users, enabling better decision-making and improved business processes.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data models, extractors, and transformations within SAP BW/BW/4HANA.
Develop and optimize SAP BW queries, reports, and dashboards using tools like BEx Analyzer and BusinessObjects BI Platform.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to gather and analyze reporting requirements.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from various source systems, including SAP ECC/S/4HANA and non-SAP sources.
Monitor and troubleshoot SAP BW/BW/4HANA system performance and data integrity issues.
Provide technical support and training to end-users on reporting tools and data models.
Stay updated with the latest SAP BW/BW/4HANA developments and best practices.
Potentially involved in SAP BW/4HANA migrations, conversions, or upgrades.

Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience (typically 7-8+ years) in SAP BW, with a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
Experience with SAP BW on HANA or BW/4HANA is a plus and increasingly a requirement.
Strong knowledge of SAP BW data modeling, ETL processes, and reporting.
Proficiency in SQL and database concepts is needed.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
Familiarity with SAP BusinessObjects (Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, Dashboards) is beneficial.
Relevant SAP certifications are a plus.

Key Skills

SAP BW/BW/4HANA : SAP BW infoObjects, infoCubes, DataStore Objects (Advanced), MultiProviders / CompositeProviders , Process Chains.
Data Modeling : Design and implement logical and physical data models for reporting and analytics.
ETL (Extraction, Transformation, Loading) : Proficient in SAP BW extraction methods (e. g. , Service API, Delta Extraction), transformations, and data loading processes.
Reporting & Analysis : Experience with BEx Analyzer, BEx Query Designer, Web Intelligence, Analysis for Office, and other reporting tools.
SAP HANA : Understanding of HANA database, modeling views, and optimized BW features.
SQL & Database Management : Querying and optimizing data for BW solutions.
Analytical & Problem-Solving : Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and troubleshoot issues.
Communication & Collaboration : Effective interaction with stakeholders and team members.
