Job Summary:
About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Ecommerce Product Lead with over 8 years of strong expertise in the ecommerce domain, specializing in Magento and React/Angular technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the team in developing high-quality, user-friendly ecommerce websites and web applications that deliver seamless shopping experiences. The candidate will be collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in delivering innovative, scalable ecommerce solutions that enhance customer experience and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle of ecommerce platforms powered by Magento and modern frontend technologies (React/Angular).
- Design, develop, and maintain ecommerce websites and applications using Magento backend and React/Angular frontend.
- Customize and extend Magento functionality based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and other developers to create robust
ecommerce solutions.
- Optimize application performance and ensure responsiveness across devices.
- Implement APIs and integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, shipping providers and marketing tools.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code adhering to best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing ecommerce systems.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Stay updated with the latest ecommerce trends, tools, and technologies.
- Drive Magento backend customizations and React/Angular frontend development with a strong focus on usability, performance, and security.
- Manage integration with third-party services (payment gateways, logistics, marketing tools)ensuring seamless workflows.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Monitor key product metrics and user feedback to iterate and optimize product features.
- Ensure alignment between product, engineering, and business teams through clear
communication and documentation.
Required Skills &Experience:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in the ecommerce domain, including hands-on development and product leadership.
- Extensive expertise in Magento 2 platform development and customization.
- Strong proficiency in React or Angular for frontend development.
- Proven experience leading product teams and managing full product lifecycle.
- Deep understanding of ecommerce business processes such as product catalogue management, checkout flows, promotions, and payment integrations.
- Strong technical background in PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and database systems (MySQL).
- Experience designing and managing RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
- Skilled in agile methodologies and product management tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical constraints with customer needs and business objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with headless Magento and API-first ecommerce architectures.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with SEO strategies, web analytics, and customer behaviour analysis.
- Experience in scaling ecommerce platforms for high traffic and transaction volumes.
- Background in data-driven decision-making and A/B testing.
