Job Description
Role & responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute performance test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Configure test environments and performance testing tools to simulate real-world user load and transactions.
- Monitor system performance metrics during tests and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations for performance improvements.
- Identify and address issues with test environment setup, availability, performance, and compatibility.
- Monitor and maintain the health and stability of test environments.
- Work closely with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to design and implement performance optimizations.
- Create performance test reports and documentation for stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and tools related to performance testing.
- Individual contributor role, NOT leading a team of testers.
Technical Skills & Soft Skills
Must have
- Proven experience as a performance tester or similar role.
- Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, or similar.
- Working experience in Dynatrace and Splunk
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of web technologies, APIs, databases, and network protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills - Candidate must be able to communicate within the team including Capgemini members as well as client
- Positive attitude and self-starter in terms of giving solutions
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester, Certified Performance Testing Professional (CPTP), or similar are a plus.
- Knowledge about Scrum, Agile
- Knowledge of tools like TFS, Jira, Service Now or any other equivalent
Educational Qualification
- Engineering or MCA or Equivalent
Challenges
- Big custom solution without documentation
- Legacy code
- Lot of data sources (mainframe, Hadoop, etc)
- Releases are planned for every month: one member from the team has to work on Saturday + another person on Sunday (in 99% of cases not needed)
- On-call duty (available on stand-by) - shifts on SUN, MON, TUE where people have to leave their phone number and be around computer to check if there is any issue after successful Prod launch (once per month)
- L1 support, where team work during day time on rotation basis.
