Accountant-SAP Specialist
Location: Remote/Night-shift
Company Type: Nonprofit Organization
Position Summary:
The Accountant SAP Specialist will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while leveraging SAP ERP for efficient financial operations. This role requires strong knowledge of SAPs financial modules, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a mission-driven nonprofit environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations, using SAP.
- Maintain and update financial records in compliance with GAAP policies.
- Generate and analyze financial reports from SAP to support decision-making and performance tracking.
- Support multi-entity and intercompany accounting processes within SAP.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare for and support annual audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of SAP records.
- Provide training and support to finance team members on SAP functionalities and best practices.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency in SAP workflows.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost allocations and project accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or multi-entity environment.
- Strong proficiency in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- This is a full-time position where the candidate is required to work in the US time zone(night shift) only and must have hands-on experience in US Accounting.
